The Elementum add-on uses BitTorrent to stream movies and TV shows, and it doesn’t stream them directly from a specific server like other add-ons. BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer (P2P) file-sharing protocol that uses both the download and upload bandwidth. With Elementum you can watch content online or download it to your storage and watch it offline.
Elementum is supported for the following platforms: Android, macOS, Linux and Windows, and each platform has its installation file. It replaces the popular Quasar add-on, which is no longer maintained.
You will also need to install Elementum Burst, which allows Elementum to search different providers and find streams according to the query given by the user.
As Elemntum uses Torrent, you should read our Torrent protection guide and protect yourself, if needed.

How does it work?
Elementum is a torrent finding and streaming engine. It doesn’t go to torrent websites for legal reasons. It calls specially crafted add-ons called providers that can be installed and updated. Here’s what Elementum does when you choose the media file to watch:
- Enumerate the installed providers
- Call simultaneously all the providers to find the media file you want to watch
- Each provider returns a list of BitTorrent links they found
- Collects and deduplicates all the links
- Goes on the BitTorrent network to find out the number of seeds and peers in real-time
- Finds out the quality of the different links by their names
- Ranks the links by quality and availability, where quality counts first
- Sends the chosen link to the BitTorrent streaming engine
All those actions are done in only a few seconds, depending on your platform and timeout settings. The BitTorrent streaming engine is based on the libtorrent package.
That’s all, now you can watch movies and TV shows with the Elementum add-on. Enjoy it!
