Every time a new stable version of Kodi is released, we recommend updating your Kodi to that version. A new Kodi version includes new features, bug fixes, stability and performance improvements and security updates. When updating to the latest version, you will enjoy all those benefits. Here are the instructions on how to update Kodi to the latest version:
Android
- Launch Google Play
- Click on the hamburger menu (the three lines at the upper left corner)
- Click My apps & games
- If an update to Kodi is available, you see it under the Updates pending section. Click on Update on the right side of the screen
- Wait for the installation to finish
If you don’t have access to Google Play, or if the version appearing in Google Play is outdated, you need to install Kodi from an APK file. Check here how to do it.
Windows
- Click the URL https://kodi.tv/download for the download page of Kodi
- Scroll down and click the Windows icon
- Click INSTALLER (64BIT). Kodi installation file will be downloaded to your computer
- Once the download is finished click on the file to execute it
- In the welcome screen click Next
- In the license agreement screen click I agree
- In the choose components screen leave all the components checked and click Next
- Select the destination folder and click Next
- A popup appears asking you if you want to overwrite the previous installation, click Yes and then click OK
- Select a start menu folder, or create a new folder, or check Do not create shortcuts if you don’t want to create one and click Install
- Wait for the installation to finish and click Finish
Xbox One
- Click the Xbox button to open the guide
- Click My games & apps
- Click Updates
- If an update to Kodi is available, click on it
- Wait for the installation to finish

Raspberry Pi
- Launch Kodi
- Click the Settings icon
- Click LibreELEC
- Hover over System
- Change Automatic Updated to Manual
- Click Update Channel and change it to the latest version
- Click Available Versions and change it to the latest version
- Click Yes to confirm the update
- Wait for the update to complete
