The Complete Guide to MediaBox

MediaBox (in Hebrew מדיה בוקס) is a free media application for the Israeli audience and Hebrew speakers. It includes the following content arranged by categories: extended Idan Plus TV channels (with additional TV channels), movies, TV shows, music, kids, IPTV with channels from all around the world, Israeli VOD, radio stations and podcasts. The app responds quickly and the interface is simple and easy to use. MediaBox includes also the Telemedia plugin (in Hebrew טלמדיה) to watch movies and TV shows from Telegram groups.

Here is how to install MediaBox app:

The app can be installed on Android TV and Android. Follow the instructions according to the type of your device.

Here are the instructions for Android TV:

  • Click this link to go to the Google Play Store for the Downloader app
  • Click Install
  • Wait till the installation is completed
  • Click Open
  • Click Allow to allow the Downloader to access files on your device
  • Click OK in the Quick Start Guide popup
  • Enter the short code: 31560
  • Click Go
  • Click Install in the Download popup
  • Click Settings in the Downloader popup
  • Click Downloader from the list of apps to enable it. It will allow the Downloader app to install apps from an unknown source
  • Go back to the Download popup and click Install to install the MediaBox app
  • Click Install in the MediaBox window
  • Wait till the installation is completed
  • Click Done once the installation is completed
  • Click Delete in the Download popup to delete the APK file
  • Click Delete in the Confirmation popup
  • Go to the apps screen and click on MediaBox
  • Click Allow to allow the app to record audio
  • Click Allow to allow the app to access photos, media and files on your device

Here are the instructions for Android:

  • Download the following APK file
  • Locate the file MediaBox.apk that you downloaded and click on it
  • Click Settings in the Install Blocked popup (you won’t get this popup if you have already enabled unknown sources)
  • Click Unknown sources to enable it
  • Click OK to confirm you want to enable unknown sources
  • Click again on the APK file
  • Click Install
  • Wait till the installation is completed
  • Click Open
  • Click Allow to allow the app to record audio
  • Click Allow to allow the app to access photos, media and files on your device

Here is how to update MediaBox to the latest version:

The current app version appears at the bottom of the homepage. Click on it to check if any updates are available. If no update is available, you will get a proper message. Otherwise, you will get a message that a new version exists. Click Update to accept the update, and then click Install to install the new version.

Here is how to set up Telemedia:

Before setting up Telemedia, you need to have a Telegram account.

  • At the homepage, click Telemedia
  • Enter the phone associated with your Telegram account in international format and click Continue
  • Check your Telegram account for the login code
  • Enter the login code and click Done

Now, you can access your Telegram groups and watch movies and TV shows from those groups.

Configure the app:

To open the settings menu, click the settings icon at the bottom of the homepage. Here are the categories of settings for the app:

  • TMDB search settings
  • Subtitles preference
  • Telemedia settings
  • Add IPTV source
  • Use external player
  • Parental control
  • Tile size
  • Favorite position
  • Show installed apps
  • Change DNS
