How to install a subtitles add-on on Kodi

We recommend installing the a4kSubtitles add-on, which is an excellent subtitles add-on. It pulls subtitles from multiple sources and can load the best subtitle automatically.

What to do if the subtitle is out of sync

Although the a4kSubtitles add-on should choose the best subtitle based on its rank, sometimes the subtitle is out of sync. Fortunately, there are a few ways to solve this problem.

First, try other subtitles instead of the chosen one. Here is how to do it:

  • Play the movie or TV show, and click the menu button
  • In the bottom right corner of the screen, click the Subtitles icon
  • Click Download subtitle…
  • Hover over a4kSubtitles and choose a different subtitle

If still the subtitle is out of sync, try to synchronize it manually. Here is how to do it:

  • Play the movie or TV show, and click the menu button
  • In the bottom right corner of the screen, click the Subtitles icon
  • Click Subtitle offset
  • In the Subtitle offset window, there is a slider. You can slide to the right or left to fix the sync issue. Sliding to the right, move the subtitle forward to be used when the subtitle is slower than audio. Sliding to the  left, move the subtitle backward to be used when the subtitle is faster than audio.

If it still doesn’t work, you can search for the subtitle file on the net. Once you have the file, you can load it in Kodi. Here is how to do it:

  • Play the movie or TV show, and click the menu button
  • In the bottom right corner of the screen, click the Subtitles icon
  • Click Browse for subtitle…
  • Locate the subtitle file and click OK

That’s all, now you can watch movies and TV shows and get subtitles when you need them.
